I received an award this weekend. It is an award I feel completely undeserving of.
It is an award that I wasn't necessarily trying to win.
Sounds strange, right?
I have mentioned several times about my church's soul-winning program.
Our goal is to see 2011 people bow their heads and accept Christ as their Savior in the year 2011. I cannot recall the exact number at the moment, but we are very close to 1600 already. Amazing!
Since joining the church in June, I have tried to do my part to contribute to that goal.
This past Sunday I received the title of "Soul-Winner of the Month" for the month of September.
This award is given to the person that has the largest number of souls saved out of the church.
It is my first time receiving it and I am honored. (D received it last month. I am extremely proud!)
The intention of this post is not to "toot my own horn" by any means, though.
I take absolutely no credit for myself.
I am proud and humbled to be used by God as a vessel to carry The Gospel to the lost.
I am merely following a command of God.
It is my obligation as a Christian to tell as many as I can about the Saving Grace of our Lord Jesus!
How will they know, if we don't tell them?
"And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature."
Mark 16:15
Here is my award:
The boot signifies us "hiking up the mountain" towards the goal that we have set as a church.
When someone receives it they write the month, number they saw saved and sign it.
I have it on my dresser as a daily reminder of what has been done, yet there is still so much to do.
It will remain there until I pass it on to the next person next month.
Even after it is gone, I hope that the excitement and motivation remain.
We are not promised tomorrow.
"Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth." Proverbs 27:1
So, the question remains:
If you can't say with 100% certainty that you will spend eternity in Heaven when you die, please email me and I will share with you what the Bible says about how you can KNOW for sure.
God Bless Y'all!!
Happy Thursday!!
