Baby, it's cold outside...

Ok, not really...but it WILL be!

Since I have given my life completely to God, He has slowly started to convict and change things in my life that are not pleasing to Him.  One of which, has been what I wear.  I know that He wants me to dress in a modest fashion.  By my conviction (and according to the Bible), I believe that dressing in a modest fashion includes not wearing pants, shorts or low-cut shirts and dresses.  I have not worn these things in a couple of months, but last night I finally surrendered fully and took out all of these items from my closet and dresser.  I figure that if they are not there, I will not be tempted to wear them.  When I told a friend of mine that I was doing this, she said
"What the heck are you going to wear when it gets cold?!".
I hadn't actually put much thought into it.
I suppose I should start to pick up a few things here and there so that I am prepared for when the weather turns cold (which since I live in South Louisiana/Mississippi, won't be for at least another 6-8 wks).

So, I've begun to form a "Modest Winter Wardrobe" of sorts, in my head.
I thought I would share with you guys a few of my ideas and then also to hear what you are excited and planning on wearing in a modest way when the Seasons start to change.

Tights

Boots

Colorful Coats

Scarves

Cute hats

For the first time in a loooong time, I am ready for Fall and yes...even Winter!!

Happy Wednesday to y'all!

  2. Oh my goodness, I want that skirt!! And um... what are you planning to do with your red jeans? Because if you want someone to donate them too... I'd be happy to take them off your hands. =)

  3. Love my tights and boots and knee socks for chilly days. Honestly, I've never worn pants, so I don't know how much warmer they are, but I've never frozen to death in my skirts! :) Also LOVE cardigans and my jean jacket and khaki jacket with scarves. It's actually easier to find modest clothing for winter, IMO, than for summer! :) Good luck!

  4. Yes, tights/long johns are a must in the winter! Good for you in following what the Lord has laid on your heart. :o) It's not always easy (especially at the beginning), but it does get easier with time. (I've been skirts/dresses only for a few years now, so I speak from experience.) And who says wearing skirts and dresses means you have to be frumpy? The pieces you linked to are cute and fashionable AND modest -- way to go! :o)
