She's gone...Crunchy!

I want to apologize for my lack of posting in the last week.  Forgive me?  ;o)
Things have been even more hectic than usual..but I'm seriously enjoying every second of it!

Our Missions Conference last week was such a wonderful time!
The Lord truly blessed all who attended!
There are some exciting things happening in my life and in our church because of it.
Once I get all these ideas out of my head and get the ball rolling, I will share with you guys what is going on.
 I can't wait!

On a completely unrelated note, I wanted to share with you guys a post I read yesterday.
Caroline over at The Modest Mom posted this the other day about cleansing your face with oil.  When I first began reading it, I thought "That's crazy!  I would break out even more from oily-overkill on my face!".  Then when I read the concept behind it and all the facts about it, I was intrigued.
So, I decided that I am going to give it a try.  I am not really a "crunchy" person (although I probably should be), so the "all-natural" and "chemical-free" part is not what draws me to try it.  It is more because I have tried every over-the-counter face wash, acne product available and they have all failed, so...why not?
Last night, I did it with just Extra Virgin Olive Oil because that is all I had.  I must say that my face felt so clean and soft afterwards (and still does).  I will probably just do it at night.  Today I am going to pick up some Castor Oil and Tea Tree Oil to try to come up with a winning formula that works for me.
My face breaks out constantly, whether I wear make-up or not, usually.  I am going to try the Oil-Cleansing Method (OCM) for a month and wear make-up as little as possible and see what happens.  I am excited for the moisturizing that the EVOO is supposed to provide, because my face dries out so badly during Winter.

Also, to go along with the "natural" facial care idea, I am going to make a Brown Sugar Facial Scrub.  I have used this before and it works beautifully and it super easy to make.
The recipe can be found here.

I will keep you guys informed on whether the OCM works for me or not.
Have any of you ever tried something like this?  How did it work for you?

Have a blessed Tuesday!

  1. You'll have to keep us posted on how the oil works for you! I'm definitely going to check out more about that brown sugar scrub. You know, me and sugar. Maybe I can snack on the brown sugar while I'm scrubbing my face... =)

  2. Definitely keep us posted. Kayla has very oily skin (you know, teenager skin) and I have very dry skin, so it will be interesting to see how it works out. We are also willing to try out anything that may work! Heather
