Head first...

Has anybody else jumped head first into Fall (even if the weather hasn't quite gotten there yet)?
I have embraced Fall with arms WIDE open!!
I am spraying apple/cinnamon air freshener.
I have put away the flip-flops and all summery clothes.
I am eating warm, hearty comfort foods (oatmeals and soups).
Last night I made my most favorite meal in the whole world...Shepherd's Pie!
It is ridiculously delicious, and super easy to make.
(If I can do it without screwing it up...ANYBODY can do it.)
I tried to get a few pictures but was not successful.
So, I will just give you the recipe and you can use your imagination. lol

-2 lbs of ground meat
-2 packs of instant mashed potatoes
-1 can of cream of mushroom soup
-2 cans of whole kernel corn
-2 cans of green beans
-1 bag of shredded cheddar cheese

Brown ground meat, drain, then put in a baking dish.  (I used a 9x13)
Mix soup and meat together at the bottom of the dish.  Layer veggies on top of meat.
Make mashed potatoes according to package directions, then layer on top of veggies.
Sprinkle shredded cheese on top, then bake until it has heated thru and cheese is melted.
Enjoy!!

Saturday was a beautiful, Fall-ish feeling day!  We celebrated the 3rd birthday of this cowboy:
My nephew, Jackson.

I took advantage of the non-hot and humid day and wore a Fall-ish outfit.

Shirt - thrifted
Sweater - thrifted
Skirt - thrifted
Shoes - Payless

It was a wonderful weekend!!   I'm looking forward to more Fall-type activities, foods and such.
Pumpkin carving, Corn Maze, Pumpkin patch, Apple pie, ect.

What are you looking forward to this Fall?

  1. Shepherds Pie is delicious! Definitely comfort food. I have never seen it made with cream of mushroom soup, but yum! Jackson is adorable. Your fall outfit is perfection. I am looking forward to going leaf peeping this weekend. The changing of the leaves is just beautiful :) Heather

  3. Oh, I am embracing fall as much as I can!! It is way too hot for any kind of fall clothes - well, I actually got to send my youngest girl to school with a light, short-sleeved hoodie today - anyway, but I want to embrace the rest! haha. I have always heard of shepherd's pie, but never tried it. I am going to add that to the menu next week for sure! =) Adorable pics too!

  4. so nice to have the fall weather. We don't have fall only summer all year and forever. HA..Happy birthday to the cute little guy there! Nice shots of you, very country road, so nice to have these sweater-over-shirt combo, so preppy chic. Hmm..maybe I should attempt a fall outfit the summer way.
